Deb Fischer Unveils Jobs Plan, Begins Tour of Nebraska Small Businesses

McCook, NE – Today, Senator Deb Fischer, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, unveiled her jobs plan and announced a tour of Nebraska small businesses.

“The leadership of the career politicians in Washington is failing our country.  The national unemployment rate is still over 8 percent, which is completely unacceptable,” Senator Fischer said. “To create jobs, we need long-term solutions that will remove obstacles for entrepreneurs and unleash the power of innovation.  Unfortunately, Washington politicians have failed to grow the economy and they ignore the needs of small businesses.  From day one in the U.S. Senate, I will make reviving job growth and small businesses a top priority.”

Deb Fischer is kicking off her jobs plan by discussing it today with residents in McCook, the hometown of Senator Ben Nelson.

“Senator Ben Nelson likes to talk about his roots in McCook, but his voting record demonstrates that he is ignoring Nebraska commonsense in favor of the liberal policies of the Obama Administration,” Senator Fischer said. “Ben Nelson continues to embrace Obama’s philosophy of higher taxes, excessive regulation and government-run health care, which will discourage economic growth and job creation.  To get our country back on track, I have released a jobs plan that will allow our country to compete and win in the 21st century economy.  I look forward to discussing this plan at small businesses across our great state.”

Throughout this week and next week, Senator Fischer will tour small businesses throughout Nebraska and discuss her jobs plan.
