Early Voting

Did you know that you can vote early in Nebraska? It’s so easy. Rain or shine, you won’t have to worry about voting on Election Day.

Early voting began on October 1st by mail or in person at county election offices around the state. You can find a list of election offices around the state here: http://www.sos.state.ne.us/elec/clerks.html.

If you are a registered voter, you can request an absentee ballot from now until 4PM on October 31st. Your absentee ballot must be received by close of polls on November 6th for it to be counted.

Vote by Mail Step-by-Step

  1. Fill out this form by October 31st: http://www.sos.ne.gov/elec/pdf/earlyvote_app.pdf
  2. Mail it to your local election office which you can find here: http://www.sos.state.ne.us/elec/clerks.html
  3. Your absentee ballot will arrive in the mail shortly.
  4. Fill out your absentee ballot.
  5. Mail your absentee ballot back to your local election office which you can find here: http://www.sos.state.ne.us/elec/clerks.html

Vote in Person Step-by-Step

  1. Locate your local election office here: http://www.sos.state.ne.us/elec/clerks.html
  2. Stop by during business hours and tell your election commissioner or county clerk that you would like to vote early.
  3. Your election commissioner or county clerk will walk you thru process of voting in person.
