NEFB President Steve Nelson: “We are extremely excited to provide our support and backing to Deb Fischer as she seeks election to the U.S. Senate. She was the overwhelming choice of our members as we worked through our grassroots endorsement process.”

Deb Fischer: “Nebraska farmers and ranchers are uniting behind our campaign because they want to elect a U.S. Senator who will fight for the agriculture industry and make the tough decisions needed to get our nation’s economy back on track.”

KENESAW, Nebraska, July 26, 2012 - Today, the Nebraska Farm Bureau announced their endorsement of State Sen. Deb Fischer in the Nebraska U.S. Senate race.

The Nebraska Farm Bureau is the state’s largest voluntary agricultural organization, with more than 54,000 members across Nebraska.

“We are extremely excited to provide our support and backing to Deb Fischer as she seeks election to the U.S. Senate. She was the overwhelming choice of our members as we worked through our grassroots endorsement process,” said Nebraska Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson. “Our endorsement is based on numerous factors, but the one that stands above all is that Deb Fischer truly understands the needs of farmers and ranchers as she is the only candidate who has lived and worked in agriculture.”

As a state senator in the Nebraska Legislature, Fischer has proven herself to be a great friend of Nebraska’s agriculture community.

Sen. Fischer has led the passage of several bills that have given farmers more privacy and freedom by cutting bureaucratic red tape.

She also helped eliminate Nebraska’s estate tax, alleviating the tax burden on farmers and their families.

Fischer has also stood up for the property rights of farmers and small business owners, passing a bill that protects private property from eminent domain abuse.

Fischer, a rancher and small businesswoman from Valentine, has also been endorsed by the National Cattlemen Beef Association and the National Federation of Independent Business.

“I am greatly honored to receive the support of the Nebraska Farm Bureau,” said U.S. Senate candidate Deb Fischer. “Nebraska farmers and ranchers are uniting behind our campaign because they want to elect a U.S. Senator who will fight for the agriculture industry and make the tough decisions needed to get our nation’s economy back on track.”
